The Carmelite Library

Membership & Borrowing Rights

Free membership is available to Carmelites, Lay Carmelites, and students and staff of the University of Divinity.

  • Staff and HDR students of the University of Divinity can borrow up to 25 items for 10 weeks.
  • Students and Carmelite members can borrow up to 20 items for 3 weeks.

External Membership Pricing:

  • Membership: $80 for 12 months or $40 for 6 months from day of joining.
  • Concession card holders: $40 for 12 months. Cash and cheque preferred.
  • External members can borrow up to 10 items for 3 weeks.

Getting to the Library

By car:

Melway ref. 2K C10. Street parking available (one-hour and unrestricted).

By tram:

Tram 96 to the MSAC (Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre) Wright Street stop and 300 metres south on Wright Street; or

Tram 12 to stop 135 (Middle Park Primary School) and 100 metres east on Richardson Street.

Wheelchair access is available via the side entrance, i.e. the church side of the Library.

Returns:

The returns box is located at the entrance of the library inside the Carmelite Centre.
