Key Databases

The Library subscribes to databases to provide you access to sources which are usually not freely available via the internet. You can search databases on your chosen topic and locate full-text articles, abstracts of articles or citations. Atla Religion Database with Atla Serials PLUS This link opens in a new window AtlaSerials PLUS® (Atlas PLUS® ) includes more than 530+ full-text journals in many diverse areas of religion and theology, with full-text content in more than 20 languages from more than 35 different countries. Atlas PLUS includes all of the titles in Atla’s original full-text product, AtlaSerials® (Atlas®) and 170+ additional full-text titles.
Coverage dates from 1949 to the present with retrospective indexing for some journal issues as far back as the nineteenth century. Journals are selected for inclusion according to their scholarly merit and scope.

Dead Sea Scrolls Electronic Library - Biblical Texts This link opens in a new window Brill's Dead Sea Scrolls Electronic Library offers comprehensive access to all Biblical fragments of the Dead Sea Scrolls.
This new online collection presents high-resolution photographs, Hebrew transcriptions, English translations, and the corresponding Hebrew Scriptures for all Biblical fragments, side-by-side within a single online resource.
Encyclopedia of the Bible and Its Reception Online This link opens in a new window the Encyclopedia of the Bible and Its Reception (EBR) has been designed to pursue a twofold task. EBR offers a comprehensive and in-depth rendering of the current state of knowledge on the origins and development of the Bible in its different canonic forms in Judaism and Christianity. At the same time, EBR also documents the history of the Bible's reception in the Christian churches and the Jewish Diaspora; in Islam, in other religious traditions and current religious movements, Western and non-Western alike, as well as in literature, art, music, and film.
EBR is a research tool for scholars in biblical studies and related fields but also useful to readers generally interested in the Bible. It is edited by a team of international scholars, all experts in their fields. EBR is published in English. The publication is scheduled to comprise thirty volumes in print spanning a 15-year period (2009–2024). The online edition contains the entire contents of the printed edition (currently volumes 1–15), as well as many articles ahead of print, and is updated quarterly.
JSTOR This link opens in a new window JSTOR is one of the most popular databases allowing you to search full-text scholarly journals on all subjects areas from 1700 onwards. I
t is a continually expanding multi-disciplinary archive of scholarly material in the social sciences and humanities and the sciences. It includes the archives of over 1,000 journals, monographs, newspapers and selected conference proceedings. Access is provided to the complete scanned image of the item. Journals are available from volume 1, issue 1, however the most recently published journal issues are not available.

New Testament Abstracts Online This link opens in a new window NTA Online is an electronic collection of abstracts of articles, reviews, and software and more than 19,000 book summaries, produced as a result of a partnership between ATLA and Boston College.
All abstracts are in English. The database includes more than 69,500 records, more than 44,000 article abstracts, 1,200 review abstracts, 16,500 book abstracts, and 50 software abstracts. Subject areas covered include: New Testament general, Gospels-Acts, Epistles-Revelation, Biblical Theology and the World of the New Testament.
Old Testament Abstracts Online This link opens in a new window OTA Online is an electronic collection of abstracts of articles, essays, and software and more than 8,100 book summaries, produced as a result of a partnership between ATLA and the Catholic Biblical Association.
All abstracts are in English regardless of the language of the original work. Sources are predominantly journal articles but also include books, essays, and software. The database includes more than 57,500+ records, indexing and abstracts for journal articles, monographs, multi-author works and software related to Old Testament studies. Subject areas covered include: antiquities, archaeology, biblical theology, and philology.
