Responding to the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse

Welcome

This LibGuide is designed to direct you to useful resources related to Responding to the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse. One of the engagement goals of the University of Divinity's Strategic Plan is to resource the churches and religious orders and Australian community to make effective and comprehensive responses to the findings of the Royal Commission.

The University of Divinity Council has approved a Statement of Commitment to Responding to the Royal Commission:

  • The University of Divinity acknowledges the hurt and suffering of victims and survivors of abuse, and their families; the failure of the churches to protect, believe and respond justly to them; and the consequent breach of community trust.
  • The University commits itself to preparing its graduates to have the skills, confidence and knowledge to serve effectively and safely, especially to the young or vulnerable.
