The University of Divinity will stop licencing EndNote from September 2024.
There are free-ware bibliographic managers available which include the necessary features of EndNote. The two most common are Zotero and Mendeley. See Alternatives Page.
Existing users are encouraged to explore other options. It is easy to import libraries to either system. HDR candidates, please contact sgr-support@divinity.edu.au if you would like to discuss options.
Note: Users who already have access to EndNote will continue to have access after the license expires (as long as they are enrolled at the University of Divinity and do not update the current version of the software). It is for this purpose that the EndNote Guide will be kept as well as for those who wish to purchase individual subscriptions and need assistance navigating the program.
Existing users will still be able to access their libraries provided that they do not update their EndNote software or try to have it installed on another computer. If an existing user's computer crashes, there will be no way of retrieving the free-licenced software. Please back up your EndNote Library in the event that this happens. Information on how to back up your library can be found in the Creating and Managing your EndNote Library tab.
Should you wish to continue using EndNote beyond your time at the University of Divinity, individual memberships can be purchased from EndNote's website.
